Muscat – His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Malik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, received today at the Council’s headquarters His Excellency Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and his accompanying delegation, as part of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

His Excellency the Chairman of the Council affirmed the depth of the relations that bind the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the continuous development they are witnessing in various fields under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham, may God protect and preserve him, pointing to the importance of such visits in consolidating bilateral relations and exchanging views on topics of common interest, which reflects the keenness of the two friendly countries to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and joint coordination between them.

During the interview, His Excellency reviewed the role played by the State Council within its legislative competencies, and its contributions to studying legal, economic and developmental issues that support the national renaissance, in line with the objectives of the “Oman 2040” vision.

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed his country’s keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman and to push existing relations towards further development and prosperity in a way that serves the common interests of the two friendly countries.
