Muscat – The Royal Navy of Oman’s sail training ship Shabab Oman II returned to the sultanate on Wednesday after completing its seventh international voyage, ‘Glory of the Seas 2025’.
During the months-long journey, the vessel called at ports across Europe, showcasing Oman’s rich maritime heritage and promoting a message of peace, friendship and cultural exchange.
To mark the occasion, the Royal Navy of Oman hosted an official reception for the ship at Said bin Sultan Naval Base under the patronage of H E Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Minister of Finance.

Lt Col Issa bin Salim al Jahwari, Commander of Shabab Oman II, said the ship sailed more than 15,300 nautical miles, visiting 24 ports in 15 countries. He noted that the voyage successfully contributed to several national objectives aligned with Oman Vision 2040, particularly in supporting youth development, strengthening international relations and highlighting the Sultanate’s commitment to a sustainable future.
Shabab Oman II continues to serve as a floating ambassador for the nation, carrying forward Oman’s centuries-old seafaring legacy.
