Salalah – The Coast Guard Police, under the command of the Dhofar Governorate Police, have arrested four individuals for illegally entering Omani territorial waters and attempting to smuggle narcotics into the Sultanate of Oman.

The arrests took place when Coast Guard units intercepted a fishing boat carrying the suspects as they attempted to bring illegal substances into the country with the intent of trafficking them. The swift and coordinated action by the Coast Guard Police successfully thwarted the smuggling attempt and prevented the narcotics from reaching Omani shores.

Authorities have confirmed that legal procedures are currently being completed against the individuals in accordance with Omani law.

The Royal Oman Police reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders, combating drug trafficking, and maintaining the security and stability of the Sultanate through continuous surveillance and joint operations along Omani coasts and territorial waters.
