Musandam – The sports championship for military units, organised by the General Directorate of Military Sports under the Presidency of the Armed Forces Chief of Staff, concluded today in the Musandam governorate.

The event was held under the patronage of H E Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, and attended by Major General Pilot Khamis bin Hamad al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman, along with senior military officials and participants from various units.

The championship featured a range of competitive sports, including a 3.20-meter race, 9mm pistol shooting, rifle/skeet shooting, swimming, and five-a-side football. The competitions reflected high levels of physical readiness, discipline, and sportsmanship among participants.

At the closing ceremony, H E the Governor of Musandam honoured the winning teams and top-performing participants. The Royal Army of Oman secured first place overall, followed by the Royal Air Force of Oman in second, and the Royal Navy of Oman in third place.

The annual championship aims to enhance the spirit of healthy competition among military units, assess the physical readiness of soldiers, and promote teamwork, cooperation, and discipline through sports and purposeful activities that strengthen unity and resilience.
