Muscat – Members of the Pakistani community in Oman have come together to send three tonnes of relief material to flood-affected regions in Pakistan. The consignment was dispatched on on Friday evening and expected to reach Pakistan within a week.

The youth-led Pakistani relief missionwas spearheaded by entrepreneur Syed Tahir Shah and jewellery professional Amir Raza, with support from social welfare facilitator Syed Shaandar Ali Shah Bukhari and Imran Siddiqui, Country Manager at Eastern Gateway Shipping and Coastal Container Lines. Bab ul Khair Cargo Servicesmanaged the logistics and transport of the shipment.

Over the past few weeks, the team collected clothing, toys and kitchenware from generous contributors across the Pakistani expatriate community.

At the official send-off, H E Dr Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, commended the volunteers for their commitment to the humanitarian work, describing the campaign as “a shining example of international goodwill and the enduring spirit of Pakistanis abroad”. He added that the initiative not only highlights the empathy and leadership of Oman’s Pakistani youth but also underscores the power of community action in addressing humanitarian crises.

Speaking about the motivation behind the effort, H E Bukhari said, “When disaster strikes back home, our youth rise beyond borders. This mission was not just about sending aid – it was about sending hope, compassion and solidarity. Every box packed carries the love of an expatriate who remembers their roots and stands with the people of Pakistan in their time of need.”
