Omani athlete Al Yazan bin Rashid Al Shamsi has won the bronze medal in the 800m event at the Third Asian Youth Games in Bahrain. He completed the race in 1:58.79.More than 5,000 athletes from 45 Asian Olympic Committees are taking part in the Games, which run from 22 to 31 October. The multi-sport event features 24 sports and 31 categories across 253 competitions held at venues throughout Bahrain.

Al Shamsi’s podium finish strengthens Oman’s presence in regional athletics.
