25 Oct 2025 Omani Youth Day 2025 By MOHAMMED TAHA

Muscat – Oman marks Omani Youth Day on October 26, a national occasion that reflects His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s commitment to empowering the nation’s youth and shaping a future driven by their energy, innovation and creativity.

The day celebrates the achievements of young Omanis in diverse fields, from entrepreneurship and science to the arts and volunteerism, reaffirming that the youth remain the cornerstone of the country’s modern renaissance and a key pillar of Vision 2040.

For many young citizens, the day serves as both a reminder of pride and a call to responsibility to contribute, innovate and help build a prosperous future for the sultanate.

Award-winning photographer Ali al Ghafri said the occasion represents the ambition that defines Oman’s young generation. “It is a cherished national event that celebrates our determination and creativity,” he said. “This day reminds us that youth energy is the foundation of every achievement and that our leadership continues to trust and invest in us.”

For Razan al Kalbani, an innovator who has represented Oman at international competitions, Youth Day symbolises national confidence in its youth. “It tells every young Omani that their effort is seen, their ambition is valued and that their future is in their hands,” she said. “It’s a day of pride but also a promise to keep moving forward and to help others.”

Renowned sculptor Ali al Jabri, who has organised several international sculpture camps, said the celebration goes beyond recognition. “It is a message of trust that Oman’s progress depends on the awareness and creativity of its young generation,” he said. “It provides a meaningful space for youth voices to be heard and ideas to be realised.”

Rabaa Saif Suleiman al Jabri, Chairperson of the Omani Women’s Association in Samail, said the day also reflects His Majesty the Sultan’s efforts to empower young men and women equally. “It reaffirms His Majesty’s commitment to enabling youth as the foundation of a modern nation,” she said. “It highlights their role in entrepreneurship, innovation and artificial intelligence – all key to achieving the goals of Vision 2040.”

She added that national institutions continue to invest in young talent through training and innovation programmes. “Youth Day reminds us that investing in young minds is the surest path to a smarter, more prosperous Oman.”

Award-winning veterinarian Dr Shahab al Balushi, said the day serves as a reminder that the nation’s strength lies in its youth. “It’s a day of pride and responsibility,” he said. “Every step we take towards excellence is a contribution to building Oman’s future.”

Volunteer Sarah al Balushi, who has participated in more than 200 blood donation campaigns, said volunteer work is central to the spirit of the day. “Volunteering builds leadership and unity,” she said. “It strengthens our communities and empowers youth to make a lasting difference.”

For Dana al Riyami, winner of the Hospitality Heroes Award for Training and Development at Oman’s Hospitality Champions 2025, the occasion highlights the importance of investing in people. “Omani Youth Day celebrates ambition and innovation,” she said. “The hospitality and tourism sector holds vast opportunities for young Omanis, and our success reflects the nation’s welcoming spirit.”

As the country celebrates Youth Day, the message from Oman’s young achievers is clear: their ambition, creativity and service remain at the heart of the nation’s progress.
