Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held
expanded official talks in Muscat on Thursday, reaffirming their shared commitment to
deepening historical ties between Oman and Turkey.
During the meeting at Al Alam Palace, President Erdogan announced that citizens of the
Sultanate of Oman will be exempted from entry visas to Turkey a move that underscores the
growing partnership between the two nations.
“The Republic of Turkey has decided to exempt citizens of the Sultanate of Oman from entry
visas,” Erdogan said. “We thank and appreciate Oman’s decision to exempt Turkish citizens
from entry visas to the Sultanate of Oman, which will strengthen cooperation in trade,
investment and tourism.”
The reciprocal visa exemption reflects the continued progress in Oman–Turkey relations and
aims to facilitate greater mobility for people and businesses. Both leaders expressed
confidence that the measure will enhance economic and cultural exchanges and open new
opportunities for collaboration across key sectors.
