Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Türkiye held a session of talks at Al Alam Palace on Wednesday.

At the outset of the session, His Majesty the Sultan reiterated his welcome to President Erdogan and his accompanying delegation. On his turn, Erdogan expressed his utmost thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the Sultan for the warm welcome and hospitality.

The session reviewed the historical ties and the relations of cooperation and partnership between the two countries, as well as means of promoting these to serve the interests of the two countries’ peoples. The two leaders also discussed regional and international matters of mutual interest.

The session of talks was attended from the Omani side by H H Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, H H Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Nu’mani, Minister of Royal Office, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Dr Hamad bin Said al Oufi, Head of Private Office, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Qais bin Mohamed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and Saif bin Rashid al Jahwari, Ambassador of Oman to Türkiye.

It was attended from the Turkish side by Necmettin Bilal Erdogan, son of President Erdogan, Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister, Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Yasar Guler, Minister of Defence, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology, Omer Bolat, Minister of Trade, Dr Muhammet Hakimoğlu, Ambassador of Türkiye to Oman, and several officials.

Later in the day, His Majesty hosted an official dinner in honour of Erdogan and his accompanying delegation which was attended by Royal Family members, ministers and senior officials.

The Honourable Lady Sayyida Ahad Abdullah Hamed al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, also hosted a dinner in honour of Emine Erdogan, the president’s wife, which was attended by invitees from both sides.

Prior to the dinner, His Majesty the Sultan and Erdogan exchanged commemorative gifts.
