Muscat – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) hosted a two-day business forum on Tuesday, bringing together Omani and Qatari companies to explore new avenues of cooperation and partnership.

H E Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad al Thani, Qatar’s Ambassador to Oman, said relations between the two countries continue to develop steadily, guided by a shared vision built on mutual trust and complementary interests. He highlighted the commitment of both leaderships to strengthen economic and trade ties and to encourage private sector partnerships that contribute to sustainable growth.

“The forum reaffirms our joint commitment to open new horizons for cooperation and to encourage partnerships between businessmen in both countries,” Thani said. “It supports our goal of achieving mutual prosperity and advancing economic relations to broader levels.”

Khalid bin Hamad al Kharusi, Director General of Investment Promotion at MoCIIP, said the meeting builds on ongoing cooperation between Oman and Qatar and reflects their shared vision to expand business partnerships.

He noted that the participation of more than 45 Qatari companies from various sectors aims to create new opportunities for collaboration, link major Qatari manufacturers with Omani firms, and launch new business ventures in both markets.

Khalid Abdulla al Mana, Vice President of Enterprise Development and Executive Director of Qatar Exports in Qatar Development Bank,  said the meeting reflects efforts to foster commercial partnerships in strategic sectors of mutual interest.

He pointed out that trade between the two countries has grown significantly in recent years, with total trade exchange exceeding RO664mn in 2024, up 17% from the previous year. “This growth reflects the strength of Qatari-Omani cooperation and its continuous development,” he said.

The forum also featured a presentation by Qatar Exports on a recent study of the Omani market, along with bilateral meetings between company representatives. An exhibition showcasing products and services from the 45 participating Qatari firms is being held on the sidelines of the event.
