Muscat – Honourable Lady Sayyida Ahad Abdullah Hamed al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, greeted Omani women and female residents in the sultanate on the occasion of Omani Women’s Day. 

The message read as follows:

“Throughout history, Omani women have proven to be a wellspring of wisdom and a source of giving. She is the nurturing mother who instils values in hearts, the wise grandmother who preserves the heritage and passes it on, pure, to her grandchildren, and the dutiful daughter who confidently pursues the paths of knowledge and leadership. From these homes, generations have emerged who have raised the flag of Oman high in the fields of excellence and creativity.

“It pleases us on this blessed day, October 17 – Omani Women’s Day – to extend our heartfelt congratulations and sincerest wishes to every Omani woman, and to every female resident serving this dear nation. It is a day of pride for all women of Oman, a day when we appreciate what women weave with wisdom and patience, adorned with loyalty and sincerity, being a fundamental pillar of the renaissance, guardians of values, and architects of generations.

“As we observe Omani Women’s Day today in the Sultanate of Oman, we honour her with a tribute worthy of her status, reflecting the bright achievements she has accomplished in education and upbringing, in management and leadership, in the economy and creativity, and in serving society and building the nation. This honour bestowed upon a select group of high-achievers is a sincere symbol encompassing all women of Oman, in every place and field, in appreciation of their continuous giving and in reverence for their unwavering determination.

“Dear Citizens of the Nation,

“We are all aware of the challenges faced by women, the family and the youth in this rapidly changing age, where knowledge evolves, technologies diversify and issues become complex. In the face of these challenges, we in the Sultanate of Oman, under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan, give this matter the utmost care. We believe that Omani women are capable of overcoming difficulties, armed with their values and constants, backed by their leadership and society and as sincere partners to men who stand by them in their mission. When a man supports a woman, he supports an entire nation and safeguards a whole society.

“My Loyal Sons and Daughters,

“Your upbringing based on religion and values, your protection from the perils of the age, and your care with knowledge and learning are a great trust that cannot be neglected. Be righteous role models and good examples. Be ambassadors for Oman in knowledge and work. Know that truth has one face that cannot be confused, and that integrity has a straight path that does not lead astray.

“Dear Brothers and Sisters,

“Omani women will remain, by the will of Almighty Allah, a shining beacon in the nation’s present and a steadfast cornerstone in its future, marching with confident steps towards wider horizons, preserving their authenticity, engaging with global developments, and remaining loyal to Oman and its leader, His Majesty the Sultan.

“We pray to the Almighty Allah to protect Oman and bestow upon its women and men continued glory, honour and pride.”
