Muscat – Al Noor Association for the Blind has announced a forum called Light in Culture – Creativity Beyond Sight, a landmark regional event celebrating artistic and intellectual creativity among the visually impaired, to be held in Muscat from October 19 to 23 with over 100 participants from 14 Arab countries.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Dr Raed bin Abdul Hafiz al Farsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Noor Association and head of the forum’s organising committee, unveiled the forum’s visual identity and outlined its objectives.
“This forum aims to highlight the role of the blind in the Arab cultural and artistic scene,” Farsi said. “It will create a platform for knowledge-sharing, artistic expression, and cultural communic-ation that empowers participants and promotes inclusivity.”
Over five days, participants will showcase creative talents across various disciplines, including literature, theatre, music and fine arts. The programme will feature theatrical performances, musical and literary evenings, an exhibition of visual arts and handicrafts, and training workshops.
