Muscat – Oman will host the Men’s Singles and Men’s Team Snooker World Cup Championships from November 15 to 23 in Muscat with more than 120 cueists from 35 countries set to compete.

Oman’s successful bid was announced at a press conference held on Tuesday at Oman Automobile Association. The tournament will be staged under the supervision of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) and supported by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, Sohar International bank and Active Oman.

Khalid bin Khalfan Rashid al Subhi, Chairman of Oman Billiards and Snooker Committee (OBSC), described the winning bid as “a reflection of international confidence in Oman’s ability to organise major sporting events set to the highest standards.”

He added that Oman’s proposal prevailed over other bids thanks to its clear vision and comprehensive organisational framework, noting that this edition will be one of the largest in the history of the championships.

Subhi also highlighted the committee’s commitment to the national snooker team, outlining a comprehensive preparation plan to ensure players are ready to represent Oman.

He stressed that the event presents an opportunity to showcase Oman’s cultural identity and reinforce its reputation as a hub for international sporting events. Beyond sports, it is expected to stimulate sports tourism and provide Omani youth with the chance to interact with some of the world’s top players.

It will enjoy wide media exposure, with coverage on IBSF platforms, international media outlets and official channels of the OBSC, enabling audiences both at home and abroad to follow the action.
