Muscat – The Sultanate of Oman welcomed the announcement by the President of the French Republic of his country’s recognition of the Palestinian State, made during the International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Issue and the Implementation of the two-state solution held in New York.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry today, the Sultanate of Oman affirmed that this development represents an additional, encouraging step toward achieving rights and justice for the brotherly Palestinian people. The sultanate expressed its hope that all countries of the world would follow the example of the vast majority of the international community in promoting the two-state solution in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.
