New York – The Sultanate of Oman, along with a number of countries, participated in launching the Declaration on the Protection of Humanitarian Aid Workers at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, as part of its participation in the opening of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
This announcement comes to realise the political and humanitarian will of the international community to ensure safe and rapid delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians affected by conflict.
The declaration was signed on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman by Ambassador Ali bin Ahmed al-Najjar of the International Organisations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the other hand, His Excellency Ambassador Omar bin Saeed al Kathiri, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations, participated in the coordination meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, prior to the start of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, to coordinate the efforts of the GCC countries on several regional and international issues.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on issues related to strategic relations and dialogue between GCC countries and global countries and blocs, in addition to reviewing developments at the regional and international levels.
His Excellency Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with His Excellency Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects of joint cooperation in various areas of common interest, in addition to exchanging views on a number of relevant regional and international issues.
