Muscat – The National Museum, in cooperation with Oman Post, has inaugurated the exhibition “From Stamp to Envelope: Narrating the Nation with Postmark” under the patronage of Eng. Ibrahim bin Saeed al Kharousi, Undersecretary for Heritage at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. The exhibition runs until 16 October.

The showcase features rare stamps from the 1960s documenting Oman’s first oil exports, alongside the latest commemorative issues celebrating the Blessed Renaissance, modern achievements, and the 280th anniversary of the Al Busaid dynasty. Highlights also include stamps marking Oman’s accession to the United Nations, international relations, and cultural milestones such as Muscat’s selection as Arab Capital of Culture.

The exhibition further presents postal artefacts, including a vintage deposit box (1975–1985), and stamps reflecting Omani heritage, crafts, and diplomacy. To mark its fifth anniversary, the National Museum has also launched four commemorative stamps featuring treasures from its collection.
