Muscat – His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Hamoud bin Ahmed al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, issued Ministerial Resolution No. 227/2025 lifting the ban on the import of live birds, their products, derivatives, and offal from several regions.

The decision to lift the ban includes the states of Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka in the Republic of India; the Republic of Nepal; Konya Province and Kayseri Province in the Republic of Turkey; the state of Victoria in the Commonwealth of Australia; and Puerto Rico.

This import ban will take effect the day following its publication in the Official Gazette. This decision follows recommendations from the World Organisation for Animal Health and confirmation from the competent veterinary authorities that the reason for the ban has been removed and that the necessary health conditions have been met.
