Muscat – Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced the launch of the 17th edition of the Women’s Bowling Championship, featuring 25 teams from 21 public and private institutions.

The tournament will begin on Sunday and will continue till September 24 at the Fun Zone in Qurm, Muscat.

The teams have been divided into two groups, with 12 in Group A and 13 in Group B. To ensure fair play, the organising committee has stipulated that all players must be employees of the same institution, with names officially approved by the relevant authority.

Each team must include at least four main players and two substitutes, with the option to register one foreign player who is also employed by the institution.

Khawla Rashid al Rawahi, Director of the Women’s Sports Department at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, said the championship provides a platform for female employees to participate in sport and promote an active lifestyle. She added the event also allows institutions to showcase their female talent and demonstrate their support for women’s sports.

Khawla noted that this year’s edition has seen a record turnout.
