Muscat – The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has successfully resolved a dispute between a consumer and a company in the electricity, water, and telephone installation and maintenance sector in Muscat Governorate. The settlement will see the consumer refunded RO 1,660.
The case arose after the consumer contracted the company to install fire-fighting equipment in a building within a specific timeframe. The company, however, delayed the work and failed to meet the agreed schedule, prompting the consumer to file a complaint with the CPA.
After reviewing the case and engaging both parties, the Authority facilitated an amicable settlement, ensuring the consumer received the full refund.
The CPA stressed the importance of companies adhering to contractual obligations and responding promptly to consumer complaints. The Authority also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumer rights, promoting transparency, and strengthening public confidence in the market.
