Muscat – The “Dhofar Khareef Explorer 2025” project was launched this evening at Darbat Park in Dhofar governorate. The project aims to enhance visitor experience through an interactive digital tool to document their participation in events, support the digital transformation in event management, provide accurate data on visitor patterns and distribution, encourage family participation, and reduce reliance on paper materials.
The inauguration ceremony was sponsored by H E Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
Sumaya bint Abdullah al Ramadani, CEO of Elf for Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Innovation, the project’s implementing partner, said: “The launch of the Explorer represents the first digital experience of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman, combining entertainment, exploration, and digital transformation during the tourist season, enabling small and medium enterprises to participate in the rich and diverse tourism landscape.”
For his part, Mohammed bin Mohsen al Maamari, owner of the Darbat Park project, pointed out that the project represents a qualitative addition to the Dhofar Khareef season, enhancing sustainable tourism by integrating technology and entertainment, and opening new horizons for domestic tourism.
The launch event included a visual presentation of the initiative and the launch of the “Dhofar Khareef Explorer 2025” digital platform, which allows visitors to obtain a digital stamp upon attending any event. It also allows visitors to manage multiple explorers within a single account, providing accurate real-time analytics to support planning and strategic decision-making.
It’s worth noting that the project is a collaboration between the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and Dhofar Municipality. It aims to integrate modern technologies into events, enhance environmental sustainability, reduce waste, support digital transformation, automate attendance registration, and analyse visitor behavior.
