Muscat – Passenger traffic through Oman’s airports – Muscat, Salalah, Suhar and Duqm – totalled 6,921,569 by the end of June 2025, down 2.2% from 7,074,913 in the same period last year, according to preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Muscat International Airport handled 6,233,954 passengers in the first half of 2025, a 2.4% decrease from 6,384,874 in the corresponding period of 2024. The number of flights dropped 6.9% to 44,743, compared to 48,052 flights a year earlier.
Salalah Airport saw a 4.5% rise in passengers to 657,209, up from 628,951. Flights through the airport edged up 0.3% to 4,526.
Suhar Airport recorded a sharp decline in passenger numbers, falling to 336 from 31,203 in the same period of 2024. Flights dropped 68.7% to 84 from 268.
Duqm Airport registered a 0.6% drop in flights to 306. Passenger numbers rose slightly by 0.6% to 30,070 from 29,885.
In June 2025, Indian nationals topped the list of arrivals and departures through Muscat International Airport with 79,424 arrivals and 113,759 departures. They were followed by Omanis with 62,476 arrivals and 72,617 departures and Pakistanis with 23,247 arrivals and 25,486 departures.
