Muscat – The Ministry of Labor has announced that 12,936 Omani citizens were employed across public and private sectors in the first half of 2025, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance national workforce participation.
The Ministry’s mid-year performance report shows that public sector institutions hired 2,316 citizens, while private sector establishments employed 10,620—achieving 38% of the annual target.
Additionally 4,292 individuals were trained as part of replacement and operational needs, reaching 39% of its planned training goal. The combined total of those employed and trained stands at 17,228, indicating an overall achievement rate of 38.28% against the 2025 target of 45,000.
The report further breaks down employment and training figures across various sectors and outlines upcoming strategies to boost localization and training opportunities in the second half of the year.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to national workforce development, calling on all sectors to continue collaborating on employment and training initiatives in line with Oman’s Vision 2040 goals.
