Muscat –The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced the arrest of three expatriates involved in an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of illegal drugs into the Sultanate.

In a coordinated operation, the Coast Guard Police in Dhofar, in collaboration with the General Directorate for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, intercepted a fishing boat that had illegally entered Omani territorial waters. Onboard, authorities discovered over 550 kilograms of narcotic substances.

The individuals, all of whom had entered the country unlawfully, were detained at the scene. The ROP confirmed that legal procedures against the suspects are currently underway.

The operation highlights ongoing efforts by Omani authorities to combat cross-border drug trafficking and safeguard national security.
