Salalah – As part of its ongoing efforts to protect public health and ensure food safety, Dhofar Municipality, through the Health Inspection Department under the Health Affairs Sector, has intensified its inspection campaigns targeting food establishments across the governorate.

In recent rounds of inspections, which focused on hotels, resorts, banquet and event restaurants, and traditional kitchens, the municipality recorded several violations:

• 6 restaurants were shut down due to clear breaches of health requirements.
• 11 establishments were issued violations for improper food handling and poor cleanliness in food preparation and storage areas.
• 18 establishments received warnings for failing to meet general hygiene standards enforced by the municipality.

Dhofar Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to continuing these inspections as part of a broader action plan aimed at maintaining safe and high-quality food services. The initiative aligns with efforts to meet the needs of the community and visitors during the busy Dhofar Khareef season.

The municipality urged all establishments to comply with health regulations to ensure the well-being of the public and uphold food safety standards.
