Muscat -The Royal Navy of Oman’s sail training vessel Shabab Oman II has been awarded the title of Best Ship in the crew category for 2025 at the prestigious Le Havre Sailing Festival in France.
The accolade was presented during an official ceremony held by the festival’s organising committee on Saturday. This year’s edition of the festival, running until July 7, marks the tenth stop in Shabab Oman II’s seventh international voyage to Europe, held under the theme Glories of the Seas 2025.
The award is a testament to the ship’s exceptional crew performance, high level of discipline, and commitment to promoting global friendship and cultural exchange. The ship’s crew has been actively participating in various festival events, particularly in marine and beach sports, while showcasing Oman’s maritime heritage and rich cultural traditions.
The Shabab Oman II continues its European tour, representing the sultanate in major international maritime gatherings and reinforcing Oman’s historical status as a seafaring nation. Through its journey, the vessel serves as a floating ambassador of goodwill, strengthening ties between Oman and countries around the world.
