Salalah – Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has confirmed its full readiness to provide services to visitors during Dhofar Khareef 2025.
The preparedness is part of a comprehensive operational plan designed to ensure public safety and enable prompt response to incidents and emergencies during the popular tourist season.
As part of its strategy, CDAA has adopted integrated operational plans aimed at enhancing emergency response capabilities. These include reinforcing existing Civil Defence and Ambulance centres and establishing additional emergency points along roads leading to Dhofar. These points will be located in the governorates of Dakhliyah, Dhahirah and Al Wusta, contributing to improved efficiency through coordination with the main operations centre and regional hubs.
In line with its preventive approach, the authority has urged institutions, companies and property owners to comply with its safety regulations.
CDAA stressed the importance of conducting regular maintenance of facilities and implementing preventive procedures to reduce accidents. Additionally, it will intensify inspection campaigns across various facilities, with violations resulting in legal action and penalties for non-compliance.
CDAA also reaffirmed its commitment to raising public awareness through multiple channels. These efforts will include educational content via social media platforms, print and visual media, awareness brochures, and deployment of field teams at tourist sites and key locations.
The authority acknowledged the important role played by media outlets in spreading a culture of safety and security.
As part of its public advisory, CDAA called on visitors travelling to Dhofar during the season to adhere to essential safety guidelines. ‘Travellers are advised to conduct proper vehicle maintenance, carry a first-aid kit, ensure fire extinguishers are functional, identify rest stops and fuel stations in advance, choose appropriate time for travel, and take breaks when fatigued. Strict compliance with traffic rules is necessary.’
During their stay in Dhofar, CDAA urged visitors to follow all safety instructions and avoid swimming in unauthorised areas such as springs, pools and beaches due to the risks posed by strong currents and high waves.
CDAA also warned against venturing near hazardous areas like cliffs and waterfalls.
‘Supervising children at all times and not leaving them unattended is key to safety,’ it said.
The authority reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable monsoon season for all and called on the public to cooperate with safety instructions and remain vigilant throughout their journey and stay in Dhofar.
