Muscat – The Environment Authority has confirmed that the environmental situation in the sultanate of Oman remains stable, with no recorded indicators of increased radiation levels or abnormal environmental impacts.
In a statement issued on Sunday evening, the authority said it is closely monitoring regional developments, particularly the recent targeting of nuclear sites in Iran amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. It emphasised that any potential cross-border environmental repercussions will be taken seriously and assessed continuously.
The authority affirmed that it operates as part of an integrated national system, working in coordination with other relevant entities to monitor and analyse environmental and radiation data. This is conducted through a nationwide radiation monitoring and early warning system installed across various governorates.
