Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik spoke with President Abdel Fattah el Sisi of Egypt, President Emmanuel Macron of France, Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the UK, and Prince Mohammed bin Salman al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, on Sunday. 

The telephonic discussions addressed the dangerous escalation of the situation between Iran and Israel, including the increasing frequency of attacks and their devastating consequences on civilian infrastructure and populations. Concerns were raised over potential repercussions threatening the security and stability of the entire region.

The US military strikes in Iran were also discussed, with warnings that such action risk further tension and escalation.

During the calls, emphasis was placed on the importance of coordinated regional and international efforts to halt the cycle of escalation and spare the region additional destruction and humanitarian suffering. Particular attention was paid to potential environmental hazards and radiological consequences, and the shared objective of safeguarding civilian lives and preserving regional security and stability.
