Muscat – The Amerat summer events, currently taking place at Al Amerat Park, continue to draw large numbers of families and visitors of all ages. The festival, which began on May 25, is scheduled to run until June 14, offering a range of cultural and recreational activities.
The event is organised under the supervision of the Office of the Wali of Al Amerat, with participation from government and community bodies. It aims to engage families, children and youth through programmes catering to a wide array of interests.
Dedicated spaces have been set up to showcase products from productive families and home-based businesses. The event also includes performances of traditional folk arts, children’s games and stalls serving authentic Omani cuisine.
Educational and entertainment activities such as a reptiles exhibit, equestrian and camel shows, a classic car display, and daily competitions with prizes are among the highlights drawing steady crowds.
The initiative is intended to strengthen cultural and social interaction, support small-scale entrepreneurs, and promote domestic tourism.
Organised during the school summer holidays, it seeks to encourage greater community involvement while celebrating the cultural diversity of the wilayat.
