Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a phone call on Sunday from United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, who appreciated Oman’s constructive role in supporting regional and international peace efforts.

Guterres commended Oman for its pivotal role in reducing tensions, including efforts that facilitated the resumption of maritime navigation in the Red Sea and cessation of armed conflict between the United States and Yemen.

He also praised Oman’s mediation on the nuclear file between Iran and the US.

In response, His Majesty reaffirmed that Oman’s efforts are aimed at promoting peace and stability for the benefit of all, while appreciating the UN chief’s dedication to fostering global harmony.
