19 Apr 2025

Muscat – Omani co-drivers Mohammed al Mazrui and Taha Soomar were happy to compete at the the Qatar Off-Road Championship.
While Al Mazrui was in the co-driver seat with Emirati driver Noura al Jassasi in a Can-Am Mavericks T2, Taha Soomar partnered with Qatar’s Ahmed Al Mohannadi.
Al Mazrui has extensive experience as a navigator on the roads and stages of the Gulf rallies, having been an assistant and navigator for many Omani competitors in the Sultanate’s rallies and the Middle East rallies in Qatar, Jordan and across the region.
“I am happy to participate in the Qatar off-road Rally,” said Al Mazrui. The Qatar Rally is not new to me, and I have participated in many events here, especially the Middle East Championship. I have good experience in the local stages.
Al Mazrui partnered with driver Zakaria Al Amari in the Qatar International Rally 2025, where they were able to lead the Group (N) category in a Subaru Impreza. Al Mazrui, who also has extensive experience with Can-Am cars as a driver and navigator, seeks to achieve a distinctive result in his first participation with the Al Jassasi.
The vast experience of the other navigator, Taha Soomar, in international participations with various drivers will also play a vital role in leading his team towards the appropriate tracks in the rally and achieving the first places if possible. Soomar has around 20 years of experience as a navigator.
Soomar’s last rally was also in Qatar where he partnered Abdullah al Zubair in the Qatar International Rally. He previously worked with Khaled Soomar and other competitors from Jordan, including Shaker Juwaihan.
