Muscat – The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations has apprehended three individuals of Asian nationality for defrauding citizens and residents through phone scams.

The suspects deceived victims by falsely claiming that their bank cards were invalid and required data updates. After obtaining sensitive financial information, they exploited it to access victims’ accounts and withdraw funds.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid sharing banking details over the phone. Legal procedures against the suspects are currently underway.
