Muscat – Oman Customs has announced implementation of a facial recognition verification system to access Bayan customs services through the Royal Oman Police electronic application, set to be activated on October 1.

The new system aims to enhance security and privacy of beneficiaries’ accounts while improving digital customs services. It will initially be available only to clearance companies.

To activate the facial recognition feature, customs brokers should log in to the Royal Oman Police application to verify their digital identity and then access the Bayan system using their mobile phone number or smart card.

After selecting the customs broker role, users will be directed to the Royal Oman Police page. Brokers can generate a QR code, which must be scanned using the Royal Oman Police application within ten seconds of creation. If the QR code expires, users will need to log in again to regenerate it.
