Muscat – After the setback against Iraq, Oman is determined to secure a win over South Korea in a crucial match of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The game will be played at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex Bausher on Tuesday at 6pm.

In a pre-match press conference on Monday, Oman head coach Jaroslav Šilhavý emphasised the match’s significance, stating, “South Korea is one of the strongest teams in our group, and this game is crucial for us. We are determined to secure a win and recover from our loss to Iraq.”

Šilhavý reassured fans that the team has prepared thoroughly, focusing on both technical skills and tactical strategies. He highlighted the Red Warriors’ readiness and adaptability, noting that it is not reliant on any single player and has contingency plans for various scenarios.

Defender Ali al Busaidi echoed the coach’s views, expressing confidence in the team’s preparations and the vital support from fans. “We are fully prepared for this match and determined to win. The support from our fans is greatly appreciated and will motivate us to achieve our goal.”

Though optimistic, South Korean coach Hong Myung-bo said, “This is our first away match in the qualifiers. It will be challenging, but we are focused on securing a positive result. Our players are highly experienced and I trust their ability to perform well.”

The Directorate General of Sports Activities in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth has made arrangements to enhance the fan experience. Saud bin Badr Ambusaidi, Assistant Director General, announced that four main gates will be open for public access, with Gate No 5 designated for South Korean supporters. Gates will open at 3pm to ensure smooth entry and prevent congestion.

Ambusaidi added that free drinking water will be available, besides mobile food carts and promotional T-shirts. Activities have been planned to entertain fans in the complex’s internal courtyard.
