Kuwait City, Kuwait – Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water has confirmed that recent power outages in high consumption areas were due to a disruption in fuel supply. This issue led to the shutdown of major generators at the Subiya and West Doha power plants, significantly affecting electricity production.
The ministry stated that the fuel supply interruption was unexpected and caused a reduction in the power generated by these plants, leading to blackouts in several densely populated and high-demand areas. In response, the ministry is actively working on restoring operations and resolving the supply issue to prevent future disruptions.
Efforts are also focused on stabilizing the grid, with teams ensuring that fuel supply logistics are improved to maintain a consistent power output. Meanwhile, residents and businesses are being urged to conserve energy as technicians work to bring all systems back online. The ministry assures the public that a comprehensive review is underway to avoid similar incidents in the future.
