Muscat – The sultanate has condemned and denounced the storming of the courtyards of Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem in the occupied State of Palestine by Israeli occupation government members.

Oman said the incursion represents deliberate provocation to the feelings of Muslims all over the world and constitutes an incitement for further escalation in the region.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, Oman reiterated its plea to the international community to assume its responsibilities in denouncing and deterring all violations that conflict with international laws and conventions on respecting the sanctity of religious sites.

Led by a minister, over 2,200 Israelis forced their way into the flashpoint site on Tuesday.
