Five new pacts inked for Sultan Haitham City

Muscat – Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning signed five agreements for development and partnerships in Phase 1 of Sultan Haitham City on Thursday.

The agreements mark the first anniversary of the inauguration of Sultan Haitham City on May 31, 2023, held under the patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at Al Barakah Palace.

The agreements cover two segments – design and management, and construction.

The first two agreements were signed with Ibn Khaldun Company to prepare structural engineering maps for three school complexes and a rehabilitation centre. The third agreement was signed with Razeen Company to prepare structural engineering maps for the establishment of a cultural centre.

In the second segment, an agreement was signed with Strabag Oman to construct five bridges, and another was signed with Oman International Holding Company to design and construct the city’s central equipment and control centre.

Additionally, a tripartite agreement was signed by the ministry, Al Abrar Real Estate and Oman Housing Bank to provide financing for those wishing to purchase residential units in  Sultan Haitham City.

The ministry has executed 29 development and partnership contracts with eight international and local developers for the city. It has also launched the sale of residential units for Phase 1 and 2 of Al Wafa District, which is being constructed by Al Abrar Real Estate. Sale of Phase 1 of Al Wafa residential units is 78% complete.
