Muscat – As part of its efforts to preserve the marine environment, the Environment Authority (EA) carried out a campaign to clean the coral reefs in the wilayat of Mirbat in Dhofar governorate.

In a statement issued by EA said, ‘The Environment Authority, represented by the Directorate General of Environment in Dhofar governorate carried out a campaign to clean coral reefs in the wilayat of Mirbat over four days.’

‘The campaign involved teams of volunteers, residents, and members of the Arab Beach Diving Club. Quantities of fishing nets and other plastic waste were removed from the reefs,’ it added.
