Muscat – Salam Air, Oman’s low-cost carrier, continues to expand its operations by introducing a new European destination to its route map this summer.

The airline will begin offering flights to Tirana, the capital city of Albania, starting in mid-June with two flights per week.

Captain Ahmed al Shethani, acting CEO of SalamAir, stated, ‘Salam Air will resume seasonal flights starting in mid-June to other destinations such as Baku in Azerbaijan, Trabzon in Turkey, and Almaty in Kazakhstan. These routes reflect Salam Air’s commitment to meeting growing demand from tourists looking to explore new destinations.’

He added that the airline will also bolster its offerings in Dhofar governorate during the Khareef season, operating four daily flights from Muscat to Salalah and linking Salalah with Sohar. Salam Air will extend its services to Salalah from Fujairah in the UAE and Manama in Bahrain.

Salam Air’s current fleet includes 13 new Airbus A321neo and A320 aircraft, as well as an Airbus A321 freighter. In 2023, the airline transported over 2.7 million passengers, representing a 28% increase from the previous year.

The airline continues to prioritize training Omani talent in aviation, with more than 60 Omani pilots already trained and around 45 engineers working towards obtaining aeronautical engineering licenses. To further enhance customer experience, Salam Air plans to update its mobile app to better cater to customers’ needs and preferences.
