Muscat – Blood banks encounter a shortfall every year during Ramadan, and the Ministry of Health (MoH) has renewed a call for people to donate platelets.

A statement issued by the Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) said, ‘In light of the critical demand for platelets currently, we strongly encourage individuals to actively participate in platelet donation at the Central Blood Bank in Bausher. There is a significant need for platelet transfusions for patients with blood types A+, B+, and O+.’

Blood donation timings in Ramadan: 7.30pm to 11.30pm every day and from 8 am till 12.30pm from Sunday to Thursday in the morning.
