The draw was overseen by Dr Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman of Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman. “The centralised admission system with online registration introduced by the Board of Directors of Indian Schools Oman has facilitated the entire admission process, making it convenient for parents and schools to take care of rush for admissions,” said Manickam.

A total of 1,402 applications were received for KG1, 458 for KG2, 594 for Class 1, 191 for Class 2, 192 for Class 3, 152 for Class 4, 135 for Class 5, 126 for Class 6, 98 for Class 7, 103 for Class 8 and 92 for Class 9.

About 72% of applicants got admission in their first choice of school, a press release said.

Schools will further inform parents about the date of admission and the documents to be submitted at the time of admission. The admission to different classes will be carried out in a phased manner by schools to make it convenient for parents.
