No fee hike in 2024-2025: ISM

3 Mar 2024 No fee hike in 2024-2025: Indian School Muscat

Muscat – Indian School Muscat (ISM) held an open forum on February 29, bringing together parents and the school’s management to address a range of issues that sparked petitions and protests recently. The event saw a sizeable turnout, with parents eagerly voicing both academic and administrative concerns.

Key members of the school’s Board of Directors, School Management Committee, principal and school authorities were present to engage with and respond to the queries raised by parents.

Among the most important issues discussed was the recurrent increase in fees, a matter of considerable distress for many families. In response to a collective demand to halt fee hikes, the school management assured attendees that there would be no increase this academic year.

Parents also highlighted the additional financial strain caused by infrastructure fee levied alongside regular tuition fee, calling for a reevaluation of such charges. The school management acknowledged these concerns, committing to a review and decision by the Board of Directors on the matter.

The need for periodic updates to the school’s bye-laws was another significant topic raised by parents at the forum. The board informed that a committee has already been set up to propose amendments to bye-laws, incorporating suggestions from parents into their final report. The management assured that further action would be considered upon review of the committee’s recommendations.
