Baby College pioneers early childhood education in Muscat

10 Feb 2024 Baby College pioneers early childhood education in Muscat By ANIRBAN RAY

Muscat – Muscat welcomes Baby College, an internationally renowned leader in mummy and baby classes. Their science-backed offering has won them multiple international awards and found them at the forefront of research and development in the Early Years field. The programme guides mothers of babies and toddlers, to gain insight on their baby’s growth and development from birth to three years through various play, movement and learning exercises.

Inspired by Baby College UK, Neda Mostofi, a Baby College alumni-mum and mother to an Omani daughter, identified a gap in Muscat for mothers seeking baby insights, a fun environment to make beautiful memories and a programme to support their babies to reach key milestones. Drawing from her personal experience, Neda envisioned a nurturing space for mothers where they could feel like they’re in safe hands and grow into their motherhood alongside their babies. “Having experienced the benefits of Baby College UK firsthand, I was keen on creating a similar enriching environment in Muscat. This initiative is not just about child development; it’s about empowering mothers with knowledge and skills to cater to their child’s developmental needs,” Neda shared.

Sarah Reed, Programme Leader at Baby College Oman, has been running classes in both Muscat venues since mid-January. “Our mummies and babies have been loving the weekly classes! It’s been a great way to spend their quality-time, learning more about baby growth, bonding in a new environment and making lifelong mummy-and-baby friends,” Sarah told us.

Classes are attended in weekly, one-hour sessions and Baby College consults with mums, upon joining, to understand where their baby is on their unique developmental journey to best serve their baby’s needs.

With a team comprising of early years specialists, academics and practitioners, Baby College positions itself as a unique offering in Muscat’s educational landscape.
