These projects were taken up to improve hospitality, camping, and recreation facilities in the governorate, while showcasing the natural beauty of the areas to encourage tourism.

An official from the Dhahirah governorate revealed that tenders for Itlalat Yanqul and Itlalat Dhank have been floated, with a submission deadline set for March 18. “Our goal is to accentuate the scenic allure of these locations and bolster tourism,” the official stated.

In alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, Dhahirah has outlined an ambitious plan of 15 projects for the 2023-24 period, aimed at stimulating the economy and enhancing recreational amenities.

“The projects include the construction of walkways in Hamra al Drooa and Al Nahda in the wilayat of Ibri, along with an integrated station on the Empty Quarter Road,” the official elaborated.

Additionally, Dhahirah is advancing its digital transformation efforts with the implementation of an electronic portal, electronic inventory services, streamlined procedures, and geographic information systems.

The development blueprint also encompasses the establishment of a commercial area in the wilayat of Dhank, a municipal market, roundabouts in Ibri, and a youth village in Celebrations Square in Ibri.

“We are also focusing on the construction of the Ibri Public Park to beautify the vicinity of Ibri Fort, and initiating Phase 1 of the public street in Ibri, extending from Al Qurain roundabout to the Dhahirah Governorate Police Command,” the official added.

Plans to organise tourism and cultural festivals across all wilayats in the governorate are in the final stages of preparation.
