Muscat – Following the successful launch of Oman’s first satellite into low Earth orbit aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California in November 2023, Oman’s ETCO SPACE has announced establishment of a joint Omani-Polish company called Spazers.
In partnership with Polish companies SatRev and Tuatara, ETCO SPACE aims to provide satellite manufacturing services, space launch services, and build and operate ground stations in Oman and the Middle East through Spazers.
‘This significant step propels us into a future of innovation and collaboration in the realm of space exploration, integrated satellite services, attracting talent, and fostering cutting-edge research,’ ETCO SPACE stated.
‘Driven by a dynamic vision, Spazers aims to be a hub for fuelling regional space ecosystem growth through satellite manufacturing and launching services. It will also allow us to provide seamless ground station building and related operations to our customers, fostering innovation through the expertise of SatRev and Tuatara.’
The company will focus primarily on providing satellite manufacturing services for various purposes, including communications, Earth observation and scientific research.
Satellite launch services will be an important component of Spazers’ services, translating the long experience of SatRev in launching satellites with several global providers to meet the growing demand for satellite launches in the region and beyond.
‘By providing services for the construction, design and operations of ground stations, the new company seeks to raise the readiness of the space services system provided to government and commercial customers and translate its strategic plans to enter the markets of the Middle East and North Africa,’ ETCO SPACE stated.
