Muscat – The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth (MCSY) has unveiled details of the ambitious ‘Youth Ready’ programme, a major skill development initiative chosen for 2024.

Hilal al Siyabi, Director General of Youth in MCSY, said that the ‘Youth Ready’ programme would be held across five governorates where Outward Bound Oman operates.

These governorates are North Sharqiyah, Dakhliya, Musandam, Al Wusta and Dhahira.

The four-day camp for each governorate promises a distinctive journey through experiential learning to imbibe skills that is expected to have a lasting impact on industry practices.

According to Siyabi, the programme aligns with the Omani National Framework for Future Skills, a strategic move resonating with the commitment of Oman Vision 2040 to sustainable development.

The camp’s agenda includes problem-solving activities, group discussions, mountain hiking, and camping, all meticulously designed to immerse participants in a natural environment conducive to learning, led by proficient Omani trainers.

“These camps will help participants develop skills and behaviours for better communication, problem solving, and self-management. They will make participants more aware of the requirements of the labour market,” the Director General of Youth added.
