Muscat – The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology organised its ninth annual national cybersecurity exercise on Monday focused on emerging threats.
Orchestrated by the National Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT), the drill got multiple government bodies and key infrastructure organisations under one banner branded as ‘Cyber Innovative Readiness’.
The exercise aimed to display and assess preparedness for a diverse array of digital risks and threats, offering a platform to coordinate responses to security incidents and strengthen ties between governmental agencies in the process of upskilling national talents in emergency case management and risk mitigation.
Dr Haitham bin Hilal al Hajri, a top cybersecurity official, said that the exercise leveraged a cutting-edge digital platform built with Omani expertise.
“The platform plays a crucial role in identifying security vulnerabilities and best practices for addressing them,” the cybersecurity official added.
