Muscat – In an effort to energise the real estate and education sectors, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has announced the opening of six investment sites in Dhofar and Muscat governorates. These sites are earmarked for setting up private schools.

The initiative is designed to support population and economic growth objectives, particularly within commercial and industrial real estate units. It also seeks to empower the private sector to bring investments to the governorates, thereby contributing to the development of cohesive and sustainable urban communities.

An official from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning confirmed that land, ranging from 3,000sqm to 6,000sqm, will be offered for usufruct contracts via public auction.

The plan is to establish four private early education schools across different regions of Muscat. Two schools are slated for the Mabela area, one in the Al Khoudh area of Seeb, and one in the Al Awabi area of Bausher.

The plan includes establishment of two private early education schools in different regions of Dhofar. One school is slated for Al Morouj and the other in the Sahalnut area of Salalah.

The ministry confirmed that the investments are for a 30-year period, subject to renewal, and fees exemption for a period of two years.

Bidders must be Omani citizens, aged 23 years or older at the time of bidding. If bidding as a company, it must have a stake of least 30% held by Omani or GCC national, the official explained.

To participate in the auction, interested parties must register through the electronic system of the Real Estate Development Services Centre, using their ID number or commercial register.
