Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued two Royal Decrees on Thursday. 

Royal Decree No 34/2023 on conducting military promotions, reading as follows:

Article 1 promotes Brigadier Abdulaziz Abdullah Badr al Manthri and Brigadier Sultan Mohammed Nassir al Ma’amari to the rank of Major General.

Article 2 says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.

Royal Decree No 35/2023 appoints a Permanent Representative for the Sultanate of Oman to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), reading as follows:

Article 1 appoints Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Salim al Shanfari, Oman’s Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, as the Sultanate of Oman’s Permanent Representative to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Article 2 says that this Royal decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
