Muscat – The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MHUP) and UVL Robotics signed an agreement on Wednesday to provide delivery services using drones in Sorouh Integrated Residential Neighbourhood Projects.
A statement issued by MHUP said, ‘The agreement aims to use modern technologies, including drones, to provide services to Sorouh residents with ease.’
Earlier this year, the ministry announced two Sorouh projects to be developed in Muscat and South Batinah governorates at a cost of over RO160mn.
With an investment of RO60mn, the integrated neighbourhood in Muscat is spread over an area of 445,823sqm in Amerat. Scheduled for completion in seven years in three stages, it will provide 1,050 housing units.
The project in South Batinah, with an investment of about RO100mn, is spread over 637,044sqm in Halban, Nakhal. Scheduled for completion in eight years in four stages, the project will have 1,350 housing units.
Both the projects have multiple housing options, including villas and apartments. Other facilities, such as mosques, commercial areas, green spaces and public services, will be made available.
